OK, so this post should have been put out a few weeks ago. But in the midst of everything involved in upping sticks and moving a quarter of the way across of the world, an excuse or two wouldn't be amiss...
So here we are...in Portugal with our family of 6 - 3 humans, 2 cats, and a dog. After a year of scheming and finagling, we're finally here. Now, pretty much everyone and their gramps were perplexed about the decision to move to Portugal while our families did double double-takes. We did have our reasons though. Ones that will be explained in detail over time in future posts. But at the most basic level, it was in search for a more wholesome lifestyle. For us, this meant not only making the move, but also consciously avoiding the main cities and other expat hotspots. We jumped right into the deep end (read: remote Portugal) for a full Luso immersion for us and our daughter.
"So, Badri, is this a lifestyle blog?", you ask. Maybe yes, maybe no. There'll be posts on travel, gardening, food, photography, and whatever else might strike our fancy at any given moment. We'll share insights into what we're up to, what we've done and what we're going to do. Like any good sci-fi worth it's salt, we'll take spatial and temporal trips, but in a light hearted manner. No serious stuff please, we're transitioning our life!
We'll post (videos too!) every so often on insignificant (and sometimes significant) topics, so kick up some sand and follow along to get a taste of what it's like as Indian-Americans living life in small town Portugal.

We are so happy for your family! Kenley says to tell Mishika that she misses her. Love that we can follow you here on this blog! Please send us your address - kenley loves having a pen pal.
So happy you guys made it safely. Can’t wait to read about your adventure!
